God’s Unwavering Promises: A Story of Radical Faith
By Pam Lochridge
I have always been fascinated by the women of the Bible, from unnamed servant girls to well-known princesses but have also wondered what is the rest of their story, the one not recorded? Did they have reason to ever question God? Or wonder “Why” something happened? Phyllis Ryser, making her debut as an author, has spun a captivating and thought-provoking piece of biblical fiction in God’s Unwavering Promises: A Story of Radical Faith Interweaving biblical, cultural and historical information quite skillfully, Ryser captured my attention and my heart with her extended tale of Jochebed, an unsung heroine.

By Alice Banker ..... Texas
Phyllis Ryser has taken a short story from the Bible and through meticulous research and the use of her vivid imagination expanded it into an absorbing and appealing novel of what could have happened. Through the eyes of Jochebed, readers experience a sequence of events that starts with the joy of Jochebed's marriage and ends with the sorrow of letting Moses go the path God has chosen for him. God's Unwavering Promises is a book that when once read, will not be forgotten. .....
God’s Unwavering Promises: A Story of Radical Faith
By Lisa Cockerell of Texas
I loved the characterizations and descriptions in God's Unwavering Promises.Phyllis Ryser did an excellent job of bringing the story of Moses to life. She showed the horror and desperation the Hebrews must have felt and their brilliant ingenuity in hiding both Aaron and Moses from the Egyptians. I especially loved the bravery and subtle cunning of the midwives in protecting the pregnant women and their babies from Pharoah's spies. All in all, She has taken a Biblical story we've heard all our lives and brought it to life with an urgency and immediacy that reminds us that these were real people living in desperate times who were forced to take desperate measures to survive and who faced true tragedy through no fault of their own with courage and strength. Mrs. Ryser has brought Moses and his relationship with God to life. I REALLY enjoyed the book.....

Phyllis Ryser writes the story of “God’s Unwavering Promises “ through the story of Jochebed, mother of Moses. It is a story of a mother’s love and sacrifice for her children in the harsh conditions of the Israelite's slavery in Egypt. It’s rich in detail and drama and the perfect read for anyone who enjoys a deep dive into historical biblical characters.
